am i right in thinking the 998 has an sp clutch, as apposed to the standard one on the 748. there’s defo a difference in sound to them (998 sounds alot nicer)

the reason for that is the really low idle and the fact its a twin not a 4. but some of that noise you are hearing is actually the clutch. dry clutch is like a box of spanners being shaken

hahah.. commenting on mufflers. you can anytime modify & change those if you don’t like it. Why not try that one from trucks or choppers. lol

the trouble with a Ducati is that by the time you’re mature enough to appreciate them over generic jap literbikes, you’re probably too old to ride one.

998 has the best idle, 1098 has the best roar at revs. And you guys have it all wrong, ducatis sound NOTHING like harleys. They sound more like top fuel dragsters in my opinion. You guys are just used to cheap japanese bikes that sound like minivans.

great bikes, out those 3, the 1098 would be my choice for noise, sounds more balanced and you hear less of the dry clutch but thats probably because its a newer bike than the 998 and 748 :p
